Conscientious
We offer a white-glove experience not available with most recruiters. We’ll assess your goals and make sure we’re moving forward the way you want to, whether that means you’re ready for a full search, or simply want to assess marketability. And we will never submit your resume, without first discussing the opportunity and receiving your permission.
Confidential
Whether you’re ready to commit to a search or simply interested in seeing what’s out there, our process is confidential and pressure-free. We've offered advice and perspective for attorneys for years before they decided to move. You can gain market insights and assess your prospects, without risk or hassle.
Connected
You will land interviews and offers you wouldn’t otherwise have landed because you’re working with us. We create opportunity at the right firm for you, not just the firm that is hiring. We regularly partner with other searches agencies to maximize your opportunities; should we not have sufficient local market knowledge in your jurisdiction, we’ll be happy to refer you to a trusted recruiter in that market.
Jordan’s Background
Jordan Abshire is the founder and managing member of Abshire Legal Search. Jordan started recruiting in June 2008, shortly before the Great Recession hit. During those lean times, Jordan made a name for himself, by finding opportunities for attorneys in the worst of economic climates.
In 2012, Jordan founded Abshire Legal Search. Prior to founding Abshire Legal Search, Jordan was a Principal at Lateral Link where he managed the D.C. and Southeast markets.
Prior to recruiting, Jordan practiced for three years with the energy group at Troutman Sanders LLP. Jordan served for one year as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry Coke Morgan, Jr., in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Jordan is a graduate of Harvard Law School and received a B.S. in Psychology, summa cum laude, and a B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University.
A Louisiana native, Jordan now resides in Charlotte, with his wife and two active boys. Outside of family and work, Jordan regularly contributes to the community. Prior to the pandemic, Jordan engaged in "recruiter pro bono" weekly at the Men's Shelter of Charlotte now Roof Above, assisting men experiencing homelessness with resume preparation and job applications.
Additionally, Jordan served on the Roof Above Board from 2017-2021 and helped launch Fortitude, a weekly workout for Shelter Guests through F3. Jordan also served on F3’s West Charlotte expansion team, whose mission was to plant and grow a workout in an historically disadvantaged community, to serve as a conduit for the flow of social capital from more affluent parts of Charlotte.
“Jordan is a great recruiter. He guided me through updating my resume, thinking about which firms would be the best fit in the North Carolina legal market, and obtaining an interview and job offer from a firm that wasn't looking to hire someone at my level. He was also refreshingly candid and down to earth.”
